Joey’s PAW provides custom wheelchairs and prosthetics to improve mobility and quality-of-life for special needs dogs. Based in Pittsburgh, this nonprofit is making a difference across the country. Since inception in 2017, they have helped over 1,662 animals! With a powerful mission, Joey’s PAW needed a powerful website. Their outdated site wasn’t helping them make the kind of impact they were poised to make. Through a friendship and a bit of canine-kismet, I signed on to give this organization a website that would propel it (and the dogs!) forward.
Talking to the Joey’s PAW team around their 7th anniversary, it was clear how far the organization had come. With deep support and a clear path forward, there were so many more animals they wanted to help! But they had outgrown their existing three-page website. Some of the links were broken, and it was hard to request a device or find information. In the midst of a rebrand, Joey’s PAW was taking a big step forward — and the timing for a new website was perfect!
The new website, developed in Webflow, makes it easy to Donate or Request a Device — the most important actions their visitors take. It gives plenty of information about the organization, and lines up with its fun, spunky personality (which is why I also couldn't resist making that tail wag in the logo!). News, Events and Ways to Give are prominently featured so people have many ways to support their mission. It also highlights the board of directors and volunteer staff, and most adorably of all, their Mobility Champions.
During the project it also became clear their monthly newsletter should reflect the new website, and a library of on-brand social media graphics would really help the team take their marketing to the next level. With consistent marketing, now it’s clear just how big this organization is, and how much they are doing. With a more professional, focused online presence, Joey’s PAW can draw on this leveled-up branding to seek new partners and donors, and spread their reach to help dogs far and wide.
Doing good on Fridays is part of the operation at THD. Usually that looks like me and my pup being a therapy dog team at the airport or hospital. But I was out of the volunteering game while training Ollie, so I put the extra time on Fridays to good use. I was able to make an impact in a different way! And guess how? Because of my clients, whose work with me fuels this philanthropy. Two paws up for that!
I know great things can happen when passionate, talented people work together.
